On the new Ostrzyga completion: Hardly any other work in the history of music is as full of secrets as Mozart’s Requiem, particularly the repeated criticism of the completion of the fragment by Mozart’s student Sussmayr, as there are some stylistic breaks that are not typical of Mozart. Michael Ostrzyga presents a carefully corrected version that includes the “most probable compositional solutions for November/December 1791” that Mozart would likely have chosen.
